So many people have asked me why I chose to call my business after the Lotus Flower.
I'm not sure if you have ever been in the position where you have to make a choice about something important and it rattles around and around in your head for weeks at a time until you feel that its impossible to make a decision?
We that has been the case for me at various stages of my life, and non moresothan when I decided to go out into the world of independent employment. (more to come about that in a future blog)
I'm very often driven to do things intuitively and only later am able to join the dots on why sometimes obscure ideas come into my head and I can finally thread the logic back into it when the pieces start to fall into place.
As a result of many people asking if I had a website or not, I finally succumbed to the idea that it was important for me to create one.. Despite not being a technical person I decided that I'd give it a try myself and busied myself with studying how to use the tools and creating the content that I would upload.
All the time thinking that "Terapia con Elena" did not seem like the appropriate name but something would come to me eventually.
As I designed the website I found a simplistic symbol of a flower that I thought would look nice on the logo and proceeded to start using it all around the website as page dividers etc...
I have always loved orchids and Lotus flowers - I even had beautiful white orchids as my wedding bouquet which was beautifully designed by my mom :)
So what is the significance of the Lotus flower?
In ancient Egypt it was associated with death and rebirth, the Sun and creation. It also appears in some hieroglyphics from ancient Egypt. Their belief is stemmed from the fact that both the lotus and the Sun disappear at night and reappear the following morning. It is therefore also linked to creation.
In Chinese culture they are perceived as a symbol of femininity and marital happiness.
In Japan they are considered enchanting and spiritual. In Japanese culture they represent purity of the mind and body.
In Christianity they represent purity and creation of the universe. Their association with the Lotus flower bears similarities to the crucifiction and resurrection, given that it the lotus rises from the muddy waters 3 days before it blooms. Also their roots can be as far as 2 metres deep and their seeds can even be resurrected after periods of inactivity.
So if we can imagine that this beautiful flower manages to grow in the murkiest and muddiest of waters, it takes it time to flower, and when it finally appears above the surface of the water it has the most beautiful simple but jaw dropping appearance: It certainly sounds like a true symbol of regeneration, physical purity, delicateness and spirituality.
I think it is also a very powerful symbol of the potential of the human being.For me, it does not matter in what circumstances you live there is always possibilities to achieve the most of ourselves in any given situation that we are faced with.
When I travelled to India in 2019 with my sister, this ideology really struck me. Even though the people we met did not have the same home circumstances afforded to them as we had , they still smiled and offered their best in what they did in the belief that being the best version of themselves would afford them a better place at the table of life... and if not in this life, then the next reincarnation they would be presented.
When I decided to focus on Health and Wellbeing, for me it was as a result of personal and professional changes I made in my life to enable me to accomplish my souls purpose - to help people to tap into their personal healing capabilities and live their best life.
It was only as a result of showing my final website layout to a client and friend that she was drawn to the flower design that I had in my logo and around the website and it was from her recommendation that I changed the name from Terapia con Elena to Lotus Health and Wellbeing.
My heartfelt thanks for her input as I now love this new idea and have filled with even more positive energy around what I hope to accomplish from this journey in my life... xx
Mucha gente me ha preguntado por qué elegí llamar a mi negocio como la Flor de Loto.
No estoy seguro de si alguna vez ha estado en la posición en la que tiene que tomar una decisión sobre algo importante y esto repiquetea en su cabeza durante semanas hasta que siente que es imposible tomar una decisión.
Ese ha sido el caso para mí en varias etapas de mi vida, y no más que cuando decidí salir al mundo del trabajo independiente. (más sobre eso en un futuro blog)
Muy a menudo me impulsa a hacer las cosas de manera intuitiva y solo más tarde soy capaz de unir los puntos sobre por qué a veces se me ocurren ideas oscuras y finalmente puedo volver a enhebrar la lógica cuando las piezas comienzan a encajar en su lugar.
Como resultado de que muchas personas me preguntaran si tenía un sitio web o no, finalmente sucumbí a la idea de que era importante para mí crear uno. A pesar de no ser una persona técnica, decidí que lo probaría yo mismo y empecé de estudiar cómo usar las herramientas y crear el contenido que subiría.
Todo el tiempo pensando que "Terapia con Elena" no me parecía el nombre adecuado pero algo se me ocurriría eventualmente.
Mientras diseñaba el sitio web, encontré un símbolo simplista de una flor que pensé que se vería bien en el logotipo y procedí a comenzar a usarlo en todo el sitio web como separadores de páginas, etc.
Siempre me han gustado las orquídeas y las flores de loto; incluso tuve hermosas orquídeas blancas como ramo de boda, que fue bellamente diseñado por mi madre :)
Entonces, ¿cuál es el significado de la flor de loto?
En el antiguo Egipto se asoció con la muerte y el renacimiento, el Sol y la creación. También aparece en algunos jeroglíficos del antiguo Egipto. Su asociación con la flor de loto tiene similitudes con la crucifixión y la resurrección, dado que el loto se eleva de las aguas fangosas 3 días antes de que florezca. Además, sus raíces pueden tener hasta 2 metros de profundidad y sus semillas pueden incluso resucitar después de períodos de inactividad.
Entonces, si podemos imaginar que esta hermosa flor logra crecer en las aguas más turbias y fangosas, tarda en florecer, y cuando finalmente aparece sobre la superficie del agua tiene la apariencia más hermosa, simple pero asombrosa: ciertamente suena como un verdadero símbolo de regeneración, pureza física, delicadeza y espiritualidad.
Creo que también es un símbolo muy poderoso del potencial del ser humano, para mí no importa en qué circunstancias se viva siempre hay posibilidades de lograr lo mejor de nosotros mismos en cualquier situación que nos enfrentemos.
Cuando viajé a India en 2019 con mi hermana, esta ideología realmente me impactó. A pesar de que las personas que conocimos no tenían las mismas circunstancias hogareñas que se les brindaban a nosotros, aún sonrieron y ofrecieron lo mejor de sí mismas en lo que hicieron con la creencia de que ser la mejor versión de sí mismos les brindaría un lugar mejor en la mesa. de la vida ... y si no en esta vida, entonces se les presentaría la próxima reencarnación.
Cuando decidí centrarme en la salud y el bienestar, para mí fue como resultado de los cambios personales y profesionales que hice en mi vida para permitirme lograr el propósito de mi alma: ayudar a las personas a aprovechar sus capacidades de curación personal y vivir lo mejor posible. vida.
Fue solo como resultado de mostrar el diseño final de mi sitio web a un cliente y amigo que se sintió atraída por el diseño de flores que tenía en mi logotipo y alrededor del sitio web y fue por su recomendación que cambié el nombre de Terapia con Elena a Lotus Health and Wellbeing.
